I uninstalled their drivers but problem still happened. I have tried so many times I can’t say what happens each time, but I have gotten the “already a newer version” message, a message saying that it needed to be restarted even after restarting 3 times touhpad a row, and the version that is uninstalled eventually becomes active again.

Wait for few seconds then attach the AC adapter back on and restart the system. It really does seem like a software problem otherwise why would restarting the laptop work.

Try to do a EC reset by remove the AC adapter and insert the straighten paperclip into battery reset hole. Windows operating systems automatically apply a generic driver that allows users touxhpad benefit from basic touch functions; however, advanced features will not be available until the proper files are installed.
